Smoke alarm goes off every minute for one second?
My smoke alarm keeps going off for like half a second every minute and its really annoying! I called my dad and he said it's probably the battery dying so he said to tell my older sister to change it, but she won't wake up, despite the annoying sound of the smoke alarm. Her room doors also locked. My mom and dad are both at work. My mom gets back at 10-11 am but i cant take another hour of this!
I don't have specific instructions how to replace the batteries myself, so I'm scared I'll blow up my house or something lol.
If it helps, I'm 13.
Btw, the smoke alarm is 'conveniently' at the edge of the second story balcony, so theres no way I can safely remove the cap.

It is the battery. Can you get up to the detector safely? Get a ladder and pull or maybe twist the lid off. It's just a 9 volt battery, nothing will blow up. If you can get up there, remove the battery and see if there is new one in the house, if so, replace it, if not, just leave it be, it'll be ok.
