What are the differences between a car today and Henry Ford's Model T car back in the early 1900's?

Hi, I need to write and essay for Driver's Ed to make up a class and I need to know basically why are cars safer now then they were back in 1908. I know there's the few obvious things like airbags weren't in cars yet, seat belts, and of course no laws really regarding motor vehicles. I just need a few more ideas to make my essay a bit more bulk. If you could give me a few that would be great, Thanks.

Newer cars are faster -- which means when you do crash you will have more injuries.

There were more deaths/registered cars, but that was because we had horrid drivers.

To correct others, the Model T included a coupe (closed) in 1909. Ford had a self-started in 1920.

I had a Ford Model T to play with as a child. My mother would poke into the seating with a broom first to dislodge scorpions. Wheels had wood spokes. Underframe was wood.. The vehicle body rusted

where a covering black enamel was chipped. I was never able to revolve the engine crank like my

father could; he was much stronger. I recall the motor coughed a lot before starting. If it roared to life this bobcat was no tiger. Every loose bolt rattled. Seats jiggled and made rusty noises when kids jumped on them. I had to stand if steering. One door had been bent by a cow. The whole bodywork

was always dirty or dusty. There was a folded roof behind the seat but I never learned how this was pulled upright. Nobody complained when my crayons scrawled upon the body exterior. My parents

garaged the Model T after they bought a shiny black International Pick-up Truck.

The only thing that is the same between the 2 are the fact that there is 4 wheels on the cars. The basics still are there, but comparing things as simple as those wheels, engines, seats, bodies, etc. would be a good start.

Better tyres, greater reliability (cars don't tend to burst into flames these days), higher quality parts (don't tend to break and throw you into a ditch now), safety testing, and way better braking.

ABS, traction control, and all those other electrical things actually make cars more dangerous as the idiot behind the wheel starts paying less attention and relying on the car to do everything for them.

The only thing a Model T and today's cars have in common is that they are both referred to as "automobiles". Otherwise, they have NOTHING in common. Nary a thing.

no more wood framed bodies. comfort, ease of operation. i like the doors comment. some of the t's didnt have but 1 door. the others were stamped into the body, just not cutout or hinged. also no more buckboard style suspension.

The Model T was an all open vehicle.

One has to crank it manually

    no reverse. Forward only.
