Would i need a 2 channel amp to wire my 2 15 dual coil subs?

I have 2 alpine 15 inch subs with dual coils rated at 4 ohms (4+4) which, from what I've heard, I can wire it at either 1 or 4 ohms. My plan is to go the harder route and go for 4 ohms. Would I need to find a 2 channel amp rated at 750w at 4 ohms per channel or would I be able to get a 1500w at 4 ohms on 1 channel and just bridge the sub.

Personally I prefer bridging so you don't waste battery juice.
