can u spray rustproofing from a can on your car alternator without screwing it up?

mechanic did it and now battery is dead. is this the reason its dead?

    if you have prof that the mechanic did indeed spray this

    "rustprofing" crap on your alternator, tell said mechanic that

    they owe you a NEW alternator & installed and done right the first time.

    + a replacement battery.

    It will only hurt it if the rustproofing got in the alternator before it dried
