Yes it can. Low self esteem causing a person to give up on themselves as in not wanting to try no more. So yes it does cause laziness in most cases

Not necessarily but try getting yourself to a better place. Build confidence and you'll build inner strength. Confidence is attained in small steps. It comes from within but there are ways to encourage it to bring inner peace and deter fear in social situations. Attaining it is much like learning to run fast, however you need to start slowly and methodically and win small battles before you move to larger ones. Just as a child does when first learning to walk by building on experience, you must first rise, then steady yourself, take a step and re-steady. After the process is repeated several times it becomes less mechanical and more natural. Not sure it works? Try this: if for example you'd like to have more confidence around people, first practice remembering names, then a fact about that person, then focus on someone you both know then finally just focus on that person. As you begin to relate to that person try and let them speak more, and ask questions about them. Even if they ask you nothing about yourself-they'll think you're great! The smile you'll get is the immediate feedback you need that will boost your confidence a notch. Then-repeat this process and you'll be running in no time. It will change your life!
