is this true - "Even more false rape allegations occur than actual rape."?

full quote - "Rape happens in every country. Even more false rape allegations occur than actual rape. Some countries make a big issue of it." - from a fellow user

this was the question - to give context

Subjugating Women in India?

Everyday Rape? School girl sedated, raped by two men during New Year's party in Delhi.

Is it a Governmental plan to make people busy? or there is something else belongs to the mentality of ( or post-Gandhi) society?

more false rape allegations that actual rape? - that is utterly ridiculous. why some men want to insist this is true, i have no idea.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_accusation_of_r...

from the article " while researchers and prosecutors do not agree on the exact percentage of false allegations, they generally agree on a range of 2% to 8%"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_statistics

  • I have no real way of knowing.. but I tend to doubt it. I accept fully that there is a high-ish but unspecified level of 'unreported' rape - makes sense when you know enough people - but I think that the rate of deliberately false rape is low.....maybe 5% but less than 10% of reported rapes....

As I said.. I have no real way of knowing....

I am always very clear - in my handling of Australia's Wrongfully Convicted - to make a clear line of difference between False and Wrongful convictions - and this applies to rape as well - an accidental Wrongful conviction or report acted upon is NOT False... it is False only when there is a deliberate attempt to lie or make a false accusation or assertion of rape....

obviously the message of violence towards women has not sunk in with some of india's men. its a country that has a police force that doesn't take rape claims seriously, fiddles with evidence or doesn't even follow up on a rape complaint. there would be no false rape allegations in india because the law would never do anything about it - real or fake. the laws in india need to change for the protection of women before the high profile case just recently is dusted under the mat by corrupt police.

i think this MRA bull sh|t.

i have known a handfull of self identified rape victims, and have only heard of 2 cases on factual TV about little skanks getting caught having consensual sex by a parent and then calling "rape" to protect their reputation or to evade punishment.

No, that's absolute rubbish. Apparently 1 out every 3 girls experience some form of sexual abuse. Plus, false allegations are very easy to dismiss.

no, i don't think that any woman would lie about being raped. Rape is a very serious thing, and can be detected by medical examination. Yeah they can lie about indecent behaviour.

Real and False. When Jesus made this assertion, it was within the context of a debate between him and Jews who didn't suppose that he was once the messiah. This declaration was once a warning to them that they had been lacking the boat. He used to be God's certain means for the fulfillment of the covenant, and people who didn't latch on would have now not get a different opportunity, or another means.

No more women are raped and the crime is not reported.

Suck a f*cking lie. Most rapes go unreported because women are afraid they won't be believed, because of the assh*les going around trying to accuse all rape victims of lying.

yes, some even do it to exert vengeance on boys who reject them or on men they hate. and if such women stopped joking about rape, more men would take it as a serious crime. women hate themselves that much
