Cost of Coil Pack, Wires, Plugs, Filter?

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger with 115,000 miles on it. Recently, on a trip down the turnpike it started to misfire or "hiccup" a little when driving. It even did it when i started it the other day. It's really sporatic and doesn't happen all of the time... The truck does seem a little sluggish accelerating though. I took it to my mechanic and he said i'll need a coil pack, wires, plugs, and change the fuel filter. Any idea on the cost of this? He also told me that the plugs that were in there were wrong and i needed motorcraft plugs. I've never had the plugs, wires, or fuel filter replaced so i don't doubt that it could be the issue./

Go to a different mechanic. He's just replacing stuff on a guess and you don't need Motocraft plugs. There's very little chance it's the coil pack, and that thing ain't cheap.

You should replace the filter, plugs and wires in any case at that age.
