  • Nauseous when hungry...especially in AM?

I ve had this for months. I get very nauseous if I don t eat...especially 1st thing in the morning. It ll get to the point where I have a fit of dry heaving but nothing ever comes up...usually a few crackers cures it. The "fit" is like my stomach turning and my mouth waters a ton. I suspect this is acid related as I sudder from mild heartburn. Any ideas on what it is? I ve noticed it s worse if I eat before bed

  • Hissing noise at high rpm?

I have a 2011 Suzuki equator with 50000 miles. Recently I've noticed a hissing sound almost like squeezing air out of a balloon. It seems to only happen at high rpms. I can make it make the sound when idleing if I rev it to about 2500rpm. It stops after about 5 seconds. Any ideas?

  • CV Boot problem with 2006 Nissan Murano?

My wife had some spots under the car the other day so I checked out underneath and noticed that the CV Boot on the Passanger front side had a gap around the rod that goes into. I'm taking it to a mechanic on Monday but what should I expect? The driver side boot is securely on with no gaps...but the passanger side has a quarter inch gap around the top of the rod where the grease is coming out from the centripital force when she drives. Any info would help...thanks.

  • How many carbs is too much?

The setup: I'm 31, about 75lbs overweight (used to be in great shape 10 years ago).

I do not exercise (used to a lot, when I played college sports)

I tend to eat a lot at night (very much so a binge eater)

My diet is so so otherwise, (i am actually a good cook).

The Plan: I have started to exercise, very slowly working on the elliptical for 20 -30 mins. It may not seem like much but compared to absolutly nothing it's a lot for me...already feel a difference. I'm working on my diet and really want to avoid things I cannot sustain like carb free. I'm capable of cooking anything at home. I love Pasta and Pizza. We only eat pasta once a week and pizza once a week. I've decided to eat eggs and lean homemade pork sausage for breakfast, salad with chicken or some other protein at lunch, then a normal dinner of a protein, veggie, and either potatoe/rice/pasta. My question is to dinner really. What changes should I make to make these meals a little better carb wise. Is whole wheat dough/pasta a good alternative? I don't want to eat pasta everyday thinking that "well it's whole wheat so i'm good". How much is too much? Is cutting it out of breakfast and lunch going to help me (currently have cereal for breakfast and sandwich for lunch). I was thinking of having pasta as a meal once a week, and homemade whole wheat pizza once a week. Let me know your opinion.

  • Replacing a Samsung DLP Fan?

Ok I had a problem with my DLP making a humming noise when operating (and 30 seconds after it's off) and narrowed it down to the fan. I opened the back and cleaned the two fans and this reduced the noise, but it is still happeneing just not as loud. My question is about the replacement. Both fans are extremely accessable and do not require me to pull anything else out. I believe these are 80mm fans...Can I just replace the fan with a 80mm fan or does it have to be a geniune part?

  • Preventing Rust on Hot Water Heater pipes?

I just replaced my hot water heater, basically because it leaked from the top where the copper pipe fitted onto the connection coming out of the tank (steel i think). We bought a "flipped" house and a lot of stuff wasn't done right. My current plumber replaced all appropriate pipes/fittings and put a whole new gas water heater in for us. My question is how to I prevent the rust on that connection? This plumber put what looks like a "collar" around the fitting but a little steel is still exposed...will rubbing vaseline on these threads help prevent rust? Sorry for the lack of the plumbing vocab.

  • 3 yr old ocassionally vomits mucus?

My son is 3 and has had some small bouts with vomiting mucus. We have an appt with an allergist but want to see if anyone else has experienced this. My wife seems to think it's a food allergy, while I believe it's seasonal allergies (which I have). When he was taking zyrtec daily he wasn't vomiting. We stopped, under dr's suggestion to see if allergies were the cause, in august. He went about 6 weeks without getting sick until last night. He'll throw up food but the end is a lot of mucus. I just can't imagine it being a food allergy because I would think that Zrytec wouldn't help at all with that. Possibly a mild lactose intolerance? I just feel like if it were a food allergery it wouldn't "build up" over time like this seems to. It would happen every time he ate the affected food.

  • 2000 Ford Ranger Front End squeaking?

I have a 2000 ford ranger with 114000 miles. For the past 6 - 7 months I've had a squeaking in the front end driver side. It's not 100% consisten...sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's nonexisting. When it is bad, it seems to happen more at low speeds. It gets loud when turning. I've noticed that if it gets bad, I can turn the car as far left as possible (as to make the car do a circle) the sound is lessened until the next time I drive it. Haven't noticed and other problems with steering or suspension. Any ideas? Greasing?

  • Downstairs Sink Gurgles when draining?

We have a bi-level house and have noticed a gurgling noise when our downstairs sink drains. We don't have an issue with it not draining, but the noise is wierd. Is this a blockage issue?

  • Good Cigar for a beginner?

I'm looking for a good, once a week on a friday after work cigar. I've tried ACID Deep Dish blue and thought it was good but a little on the "artificial" tasting side. I love the smell of the tabacco isle and imagine a cigar as having a good smooth tabacoo taste. I would like a smaller cigar, not tiny but not huge in the under $10 range.

  • Good Cigar for a beginner?

I've recently started smoking a cigar on Friday's after work with a couple of my friends. It's my turn to buy this week and I'm not sure what to get. Last week we had ACID Deep Dish blue...it was good but I think i'm looking for something different. I love the smell of fresh tabacco and imagine a good cigar has a "fresh tabacco" taste...the ACID cigar tasted a bit "fake" or over sweetened...it was a little "spicy" too. I know I'd like a cigar on the smaller end, not tiny but not something thats huge. Any info would help. Basically looking in the under $10 a piece range.

  • How often is it safe to wash out your eyes?

So I got dish soap in my eyes yesterday after the bottle top got plugged and exploded in my face. I have an eye wash (little eye shaped cup you put water in) and it worked well. I was wondering how often it's safe or effective to wash your eyes out with water like this. My guess is that it can do harm because our eyes are extra sensitive and putting chlorine laden municipal water in them is bad...but i've heard of some people getting allerergy relief from doing it. I usually use Opcon A drops but i'm not sure how good that is for your eyes either

  • Best Setting for Home Theater?

I just purchased a Yamaha 5.1 stereo and am a little proplexed in regards to the settings. I've cycled through some of the settings in the "music" and "movie" category and it seems that the "5channel" is the best. There is also settings for what decoder to use. I've read the descriptions but i'm just not sure which one is best for every day TV watching. Anyone have any tips on which settings to use for a noob?

  • Cooking Time/Temp for Prime Rib in Cast iron?

I'm cooking a small prime rib (about 2.5lbs with 1 rib) for dinner. Usually I grill but tonight i'm going to use a cast iron pot. Should I sear it on both sides first? If so, how long? Then in the oven what time/temp would be best for a roast that small...lid on or off?

  • how much more efficient is my new furnace/ac?

I have an older AC/Furnace unit that i'm in the process of replacing. The old unit was considered too small for the house and was on the low end of the energy efficiency scale. The one i'm getting is very effecient (96% furnace and 16seer ac unit) and is 3 ton instead of 2 ton. I'm thinking the electric/gas bill won't be too much different, but does anyone have any experience with this and what I can expect in savings? Despite it being a gas furnace, will the blower be more electrictally efficient?

  • Should I stick with my Ford Ranger?

I currently have a 2000 Ford Ranger with 115000 miles. I'm at kind of a crossroads with fixing or buying a new car. The truck, in the last 3 years, i've fixed or replaced the radiator, alternator, ignition coil and rear leaf springs. I don't want to get into a cycle of pouring money into it, but don't want to dump it if it still has life in it. Most of the trucks i've been looking at are in the range of $15000 for a truck with around 70 - 80000 miles (mostly trucks like a ford sport trac). Any advice would help. To me, right now, it seems like sticking with the ranger is a good idea...a $1000 a year to fix (which it's been less than that) is still cheaper than a $300 a month payment for a used car.

  • Cost of Coil Pack, Wires, Plugs, Filter?

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger with 115,000 miles on it. Recently, on a trip down the turnpike it started to misfire or "hiccup" a little when driving. It even did it when i started it the other day. It's really sporatic and doesn't happen all of the time... The truck does seem a little sluggish accelerating though. I took it to my mechanic and he said i'll need a coil pack, wires, plugs, and change the fuel filter. Any idea on the cost of this? He also told me that the plugs that were in there were wrong and i needed motorcraft plugs. I've never had the plugs, wires, or fuel filter replaced so i don't doubt that it could be the issue./
