Good Cigar for a beginner?

I've recently started smoking a cigar on Friday's after work with a couple of my friends. It's my turn to buy this week and I'm not sure what to get. Last week we had ACID Deep Dish blue...it was good but I think i'm looking for something different. I love the smell of fresh tabacco and imagine a good cigar has a "fresh tabacco" taste...the ACID cigar tasted a bit "fake" or over sweetened...it was a little "spicy" too. I know I'd like a cigar on the smaller end, not tiny but not something thats huge. Any info would help. Basically looking in the under $10 a piece range.

Firstly you won't get Cuban cigars in America (trade embargo) I only put that down because someone ALWAYS suggests getting a Cuban cigar and you really need to know your game to get a real one of them.

Now onto some cigars I think you would enjoy, remember these are my opinion and you might hate them.

Diesel Unholy Cocktail - Rich tobacco taste with spicy notes of cinnamon and cedar wood, normally retails for $3-4.50.

Perdomo Champagne Reserve 10th Anniversary - Creamy woody tobacco taste that also packs a decent kick to it, good if you like a little vitamin N - $5-6

Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 - Woody, Grassy, clean tobacco taste, quite creamy too and around $6-8 depending on format.

Hoyo De Monterrey Excalibur - Cedar wood and sweet tobacco all the way, $6ish.

A.Fuente Shadegrown Rothschild - Not flavored in any way but very sweet tasting tobacco with coffee and cream notes, $ 4-6.

EDIT- And we have a winner although he looks alot like a site bot.
