Replacing a Samsung DLP Fan?
Ok I had a problem with my DLP making a humming noise when operating (and 30 seconds after it's off) and narrowed it down to the fan. I opened the back and cleaned the two fans and this reduced the noise, but it is still happeneing just not as loud. My question is about the replacement. Both fans are extremely accessable and do not require me to pull anything else out. I believe these are 80mm fans...Can I just replace the fan with a 80mm fan or does it have to be a geniune part?

My light went out while I was watching TV, and I got the 3 flashing signal meaning "bulb might be dead". I tried replacing the build to no avail. Then I tested the ballast and found that the input voltage was only about 130VAC instead of the expected 320VAC. I called a service company (Poway TV). He found that the main power supply board had two dead capacitors (the pair of large 820 uf devices) were both bad. The tech replaced the two on the spot, and then had to replace the ballast. After these two changes the color wheel started to spin again and the light came on. $350 for the service call, parts and labor.
