Can I join the National Guard if I'm on a medication?

So I've got to take a medication for ADD. I know that in the military you can't get in if you're on meds, but what about the National Guard or regular Law Enforcement?

The last I checked, the front of the National Guard uniform says "US ARMY"...which means it's "Military" Sparky. So I'll let you guess at the answer to that one.

a gentle case of a few thing that calls for drugs isn't a gentle case. None of he amenities are accepting applicants that do not meet the medical criteria. you're out of success. Tourettes or the different ailment excludes you from their medical criteria. Sorry.

Be off your meds for at least a year, then talk to your recruiter. You won't be a DQ if you can get a document from your Doc stating you're clear for it. (My Doctor was a ******* idiot towel head and wouldn't do it. I went to another guy and he cleared me) But I'm 17 so it's a little different if you're older. As for Law Enforcement, they won't be as strict. I don't know about having a degree.

Guard and Reserves fall under the same medical standards as Active duty.

each state/county has their own requirements for civilian LEO.

law enforcement won't take you without a degree in criminal justice- but most will be okay with the meds.

national guard will not allow the meds.
