what would airport security think of a bag full of shoes?
I am flying from buffalo niagara international to orlando international next month and was planning on bringing a number of pairs of sneaker in a checked bag, and was concerned that security would find it suspicious (shoe bombs or something) does anyone know if this would be a problem? Would I be better off leaving them behind, or is this going to be a non-issue?

They have X-ray scanners, they would only get suspicions if they saw patches of explosives or drugs on the X-ray,

I wouldn't worry so much about security but other areas.
Shoes can be quite heavy, and you don't say what airline you are flying. But with most airlines they have a 40-50lb limit. After that you are charged an overweight fee that again depending on the airline and destination may exceed $100. And these fees are not prorated. So if you are even 1lb over, you would be charged the entire overweight fee.
If by chance you are flying internationally. You may get questioned by customs as to why you are bringing these many pairs into the country, but as long as you are not trying to sell them you would be okay.

they will think nothing of it.

Xan, I am having a bit of a laugh at your post, had to read it twice. Don't worry, it is a non issue. Fly in confidence.

that is not going to be the strangest thing they have seen.
I would have to ask, why would you need a whole bag full of gym shoes?

it's a non issue. they have seen much weirder stuff. and it is clearly not a weapon/bomb if you are willing to check it.
