Do you think the Navy Seal team that helped design Medal of Honor punishment was too strict?
I know it's been a while since this all happened, but what's your opinion on it?
I think it was Seal Team VI. One of the most elite group of men we have for the U.S Military. They put their lives on the line on daily basis and they leaked a little bit of information and now none of them can receive a pay grade increase, and they lost pay for 2 months. Do you think we did right with this? I know it's just a little slap on the wrist since they call could face espionage but seriously.. What do you think?

it was a couple of bad eggs who violated OPSEC policies, not an entire team.
seal team 6 was disbanded in the 80s
they can still get promoted. they received NJP, it IS NOT a career ender by any means unless it is not an isolated incident.
As for what I think- they are in a position where "leaking a little bit of information" is a big deal. They are held to high standards for a reason. They violated the trust placed in them, if anything a slap on the wrist is too light. You can find ANYONE to put his life on the line on a daily basis, that's not the issue.

they Know the rules . and they disobeyed . the UCMJ is there for a reason
what they got was a field grade Article 15 ( Non judicial punishment ) Is it a bad thing YES is it career ending .. NOPE
and to correct you . YES they can be promoted ! . True it's going to be a bit harder . but they are not "locked" from promotion . if that was the case they would of been administrative discharged

They can't rank up. You have to rank up to stay in. They're being discharged without being officially discharged. Their crime was doing their job, with details of the job being leaked later on by other parties. Hell yes that's wrong.
