Punctuation is important; "Let's eat Dad", means something different than, "Let's eat, Dad."
I think you meant (x+5) / (x-5) = 2
x+5 = 2x - 10
x = 15
And x-5 = 10.

(x + 5) / (x - 5) = 2 : multiply both sides by (x - 5)
(x + 5) = 2 * (x - 5) : divide both sides by 2
x - 5 = (x + 5) / 2 : this appears to answer your question...
This can also be written as: x - 5 = (1 / 2)*x + (5 / 2)
to solve for x:
(x + 5) / (x - 5) = 2 : multiply both sides by (x - 5)
(x + 5) = 2 * (x - 5) : distribute the 2
x + 5 = 2*x - 10 : subtract x from both sides
5 = 2*x - 10 - x : simplify
5 = x - 10 : add 10 to both sides
15 = x
Therefore, x = 15.

Given x+5/x-5 = 2
Or, x+5=2(x-5) (cross multiplication)
Or, x+5=2x-10 (opening bracket)
Or,5= 2x-x-10 (moving LHS to RHS, thus sign change)
Or,5=x-10 (solving 2x-x)
Or,x-10=5 (LHS =RHS)
Or,x-10-5=0 (moving RHS to LHS, thus change sign)
Or,x-5=10 (moving LHS to RHS, thus change sign)
Therefore, x-5 = 10.
