Atheists; Have you ever had a "Depression sandwich"?

I'm serious!

This must be a Canadian thing (not strict a Catholic Canadian thing)

I searched the web for a video link but sadly couldn't find one... it's not that hard to make one.

Take one can of Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup, along with two pieces of bread (white bread is best...Wheatbelly be damned!!) Then proceed just as though making your standard grilled cheese. Only substitute the cheese in the middle with a generous helping of the gelatinous mass. I know this sounds creepy, but just like Poutine... you'll never go back!

I suppose the sandwich was named after the great depression and the resourcing of inexpensive food combinations, but I assure "Depression sandwiches" are alive and well in Western Canada anyway... I just enjoyed two of them.

Call this one a Kitchen troll.

Heck yeah! But you ought to try it with cream of chicken soup. Positvely scrumptious! Also good depression apple pie with no apples only ritz crackers.

I am partial to a thick mushroom soup sandwich if I feel to lazy to cook but the thought of it is grim too.

Is that like a wish sandwich?

You know, when you have two pieces of bread and wish you had some meat to go in between.
