Did Arthur Pendragon die in Merlin?
I am very curious because Arthur was the main character and he is of course the king. what i mean by in merlin was the tv series which started in 2008. I just watched the last episode i believed it to be and i see that Arthur dies in the hand of Merlin when they nearly arrived at this "black castle" place you just had to cross the river but Arthur died. Very sad it would help if someone would answer my curiousity question thank you and have a good evening!

sadly,to what we see yes he is dead. sadly also when we watch shows from abroad we don't get all the info. that was very sadly the last episode of merlin ever. the bbc who airs the show has stopped it n cancelled it. many,many ppl are very disappointed with the bbc and very upset. I know this cause I just did some research n googled some things. this last season only started airing in the states 2 days ago.... 1/4/13. we actually aired it before they have. but it really gets me the way they ended it. it was a very weird ending for a last show ever. but yes, that's it. they are talking of a spin of series n tv movies but as for this one..... im very upset at the bbc for stopping it!!! shame on the bbc. not happy what so ever. the show is very successful in the uk, the states and here in Australia. t.v world really needs there heads red. they all do it...start a really good show then can it out of nowhere. it sux. but that should answer your question n any others you might have. n bbc...... what a sucky ending for a last show ever!!!! long live merlin!!!!!

I haven't seen the last episode yet. (I don't thin I'll bother now you just told me how it ends.) ..... The TV show is so far from the reality of those times, it is just not funny. .... That was meant to be the sea, not a river. the black castle was a monastary. .... According to Legends,, at the end of the last battle, Arthur was mortally wounded. Three monks (the 3 wise men?) took him to the "Isle of Avalon". From there things get a bit sketchy. ..... In some legends, Arthur dies there being attended to by monks. Other legends have Arthur make a full recovery, but that he spends the rest of his days on Avalon. In a few legends, he is joined there by Guineverre. ............ Merlin has no part in the death of his King. He just seems to disappear altogether. ....... Can't help you with the TV version, sorry.

i dont believe that arthur is dead because that would destroy the plot, even if he did die merlin would find a way to bring him back or something.
