How to seperate my bromeliad babies from mama plant and repot?

I have a bromeliad that has long since bloomed and has two healthy babies that are very ready to be repotted. ive only recently gotteb in to plants and am not sure as to what the safest way to seperate them would be. any tips and direction would be very much appreciated!! Thank you!

    I would just cleanly cut them off with bypass pruning shears and re pot them. The mama plant will die anyway after it flowers. The young plants will do well without much care.
