Fish, they dont need much maintenance. They are easy to take care of, therefore, they can be suitable for you as a pet

Turtles can be great pets as well

if not, you can try out hamsters or guinea pigs

Rats also sound totally ideal for you to be honest, playful, clean, non smelly and intelligent little animals.Males do tend to be a little friendlier though, just so you know, females are more hyper-bounce machines. Not sure where you are so can't help with cost of neutering. My friend has 3 rats and they are adorable, sweet, amazing companions, little fuss but SOOOO much love in return! Get them as big a cage as you can afford and spend at least 1 hour a day playing with them, but the more time you spend the better pets they are!

Birds such as cocktails, parakeets, budgies are great pets. If you're a first time bird owner I reccomend getting a Budgie first because they are cheap and very nice when hand raised. They can even learn to talk and can be taught tricks. They're also pretty cuddly.

My friend's cockatiel is quiet and loves to sit on my shoulder. She can't get far if she tries to fly and is very affectionate and playful. She knows two tricks [turn around and wings up] and it didnt take a long time to learn them at all. And cockatiels can be taught to whistle whole songs with practice!

    all these make great pets!

    good luck in choosing one

definetly a fish, like a small calm one. Maybe a turtle? Not the huge turtles but tiny ones.
