When do you thnk (aaaahhh) The Simpsons takes place?
I THINK ALL ANIMATED SHOWS TAKE PLACE AT ONE TIME, THEIR EPISODES JUST AIR AT DIFFERENT TIMES IN OUR UNIVERSE.i'm too lazy to go fix the caps lock i just noticed.Anyways,my best guess is 2007. It's as far as i can go without getting to far away from the technology they have in the later episodes. What do you think?
maybe not 2005 since they have twitter and facebook in the later episodes

It's not really specific as to when it takes place because none of the episodes are really canon, only a few are...Since the show started at the end of the eighties, the show has adapted to each year so it is not set at any real time, as it goes on there will be more additions...That's why in the latest seasons you will see them with Wii's and iPods and what not and if the show keeps going on, it will keep changing...To answer your question, it's not really set at any time just adapts as our time goes on...
