Let me get this straight. If a player is hurt, the coach should be fired for playin him right?

Garret should be fired today because he put Romo back in the game last year vs San Fran with a seperated shoulder and put Witten in EXTREMELY unhealthy with a life threatening spleen injury this year. From now on, lets fire every coach for putting in an injured player since no coach has EVER put an injured player in a game. Yesterday was the very first time.

Update:

Another point, if he was SO unhealthy, why was nothing said after they beat Dallas? The answer is simple, its because Washington won. And if they had won yesterday, NOTHING would be said today either. This has been going on for YEARS, its the NFL, its part of the job and the coaches and players both know it.

Update 2:

    I agree.

Also, Garrett played DeMarcus Ware in the finale when he had a dislocated shoulder and hyperextended elbow. Ware really didn't belong out there, but him playing exemplified the Cowboys' never say never attitude this season. (People don't realize this team went 8-8 when it had every reason to fold; see the Philadelphia Eagles).

By the way, RG3 really wasn't that healthy when the Redskins beat Dallas. He only had to throw 18 passes because Alfred Morris was getting 200 yards against what was left of the Cowboys defense. Against Seattle, they didn't get that kind of production from Morris; and we saw what happened.

Your examples with Romo and Witten are related to Griffin's situation, but not entirely the same in terms of extreme injury.

Fact: Griffin sustained a severe concussion mid-season against the Falcons. Coach puts him back on the field after only 1 game missed. He is a rookie!

One could argue that the concussion impacted RG3's decision making to the severity of which while at the Raven's game he risked his OWN career running of out the pocket instead of throwing the ball away! This ultimately led to the Ngata right-knee busting tackle.

Fact: Griffin sustained (and still has) a severe right-knee injury against the Ravens, also midseason, which could potentially END Griffin's career after Shanahan (and Griffin's insistence) to play in the Wild Card game. Robert's knee literally buckled and bent the WRONG DIRECTION when he stooped to pick up a bad-snap, untouched by defenders.

Shanahan has shown egregious decision-making when it comes to their star, 1st round pick, franchise QB! The guy has sustained two serious injuries in his rookie season that some QBs do not get until after playing 10 years in the league. If things with the Redskins continue on the same road between Shanahan and Griffin, imagine how close to physically useless RG3 will be in 4, 5, heaven forbid 10 years under such abusive coaching decisions!

The Witten example is severe yes, and was also a blatant disregard for the health/safety of their tight end.

I understand your sarcasm but no, yesterday was not the first time a coach has abused his position of power over these professional athletes.

IMHO: RG3 should have not played at least for 4 weeks after the severe concussion; opting to SAVE him for the Wild Card/Playoffs.

Jason Garrett should be fired regardless. We need a new coach. Clearly something's not working. & I know! I was so worried for Witten at the beginning of this year.

No. Players play. Phillip Rivers had ACL surgery a few days before the 2008 AFC championship game. He wasnt very effective, but he played

I agree with what you said, however, nobody put a gun to Witten or Romo's head. They could've stay out if they wanted. RGIII was given the choice and stayed in anyway.

People don't realize how hard it probably was to pull RG3 from the game. It's his first career playoff game. You probably would've had to drag him off the field, knowing RG3. Also, i'm not sure how much I trust Kirk Cousins. Yeah, he played well in a few games, but i'm not sure i'm comfortable putting my season in his hands.

Ultimately, if the player says they can go the coach can play him UNLESS it's a concussion or suspected concussion.
