Are whole grain bagels good for you?

I just looked how much calories 1 bagel is (260) and that seems high to me because I want to eat that plus 2 egg whites (60 calories)

    Foods made from the wheat faimily grains are not healthy over time, for a variety of reasons beyond simple gluten content. Processed/refined foods made from corn/rice/etc. are not much better. If you are wise, you are avoiding flour/pasta/bread/cereal/chip type grain foods almost completely.

    Nothing fattens you up faster than high grain and sugar consumption. That is why factory farms feed it to their livestock instead of fats to fatten up animals at breakneck speeds - so much so that these animals are so unhealthy and obese they cannot even stand up in many cases.

    ÇåLories are just measurements of kinetic-energy. it's really got nothing to do with health but everything to do with weight-gain. sorry for sound pandemic, it's just that ÝöÚ really should word your questions in that sort of fashion.

    For starters, no 320 calories isn't a lot for a meal. I Wouldn't eat that ÈVERYDAY, but once in a while is fine. There's laso the fact that you never mentioned how much energy you expend. The average adult burns 1450-1620 calories (ÅT REST). If you're constantly on the go, you may need more. and if you're younger than 18, you may need less.

    Bagels are equal to 6 slices of bread so they are high in calories no matter what.
