1. 4/9 x n = 1 1/3
Simplify 1 1/3 to 4/3.
Multiply each side by 9 to get rid of the fractions.
4 x n = 12 (4/3 x 9)
Divide each side by 4
n = 3
2. n x 2.25 = 90
2.25 is the same as 2 1/4 or 9/4
n x 9/4 = 9
Multiply each side by 4 to get rid of the fractions
n x 9 = 36
n = 4
3. n/15 = 120
Multiply each side by 15
n = 1600
4. 180/n = 15
Multiply each side by n to get rid of the fraction
180 = 15 n
Divide both sides by 15
n = 12
5. If you use 10 1/2 as the result, this is between 10 & 11.
This is the same as 21/2, so you could use 3/1 x 7/2 as the two fractions.
You could also use 42/4 and 7/2 x 6/2 as the fractions.
Both sets of fractions when multiplied together gives you 10 1/2 as the answer.
There are other combinations that you could use also.
6. Similar to #5 except using decimals instead.
Using 1.5 as the resulting product.
1.2 x 1.25 = 1.5
