Do you mean teaching swimming lessons and or coaching?
From reading the SwimAmerica its not a degree, but certificate in teaching swimming, ASCA Level II Coaching Certification. As part of this course you will be taught stroke technique, water familiarization, water safety, squad coaching etc.
I think there is additional certificates which enhances your qualifications. I found a few links which can give you more information on accreditation, and when courses are being run, and if you have to be re-accredited.
I am a qualified & registered teacher in Australia, I hold AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety. AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics. AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics for People with a Disability. Registration/License no; V20578. Every 3 years I need to do a re-accreditation this includes professional development and 40 hours hands on teaching.
Teaching swimming is very rewarding, and having the additional qualifications boosts my teaching capacity. Infant & Preschool Aquatics being my favourite. Gaining my AustSwim certificate was the start of my going onto gain a number of other qualifications.
