How much of a chance does this student have of getting into top colleges like the ivy leagues and duke?
Okay so say there was a senior in high school and this was what they accomplished during their high school career. How much of a chance would they have of getting into an ivy league and/or Duke University?
-4.0 gpa
-all honors/advanced/AP classes
-approximately 1900 on SAT
-band program all through high school, including marching band and concert band.
-Band section leader as a junior and woodwind captain as a senior.
-1year of junior national honor society and 3 years of national honor society
-4 years of key club and key club president as a senior
-volunteering at local hospital once a month for 3 years
-(I am not sure if this counts because it is a summer activity) 4 years of a music/art camp over the summer, 2 of those years as a camp counselor
What would you say this students chances were? Is there anything else they need to do?

Everything looks great EXCEPT your SAT scores. 1900 would be way below the average accepted at the ivy leagues. And is that a 4.0 weighted or unweighted? If thats unweighted then thats amazing, if its weighted then its well below ivy league.
So basically retake the SAT and aim for ~2200. And if that 4.0 is unweighted you should stand about a 20-30% chance. The reason its so low is because almost EVERYONE who applies to those schools has ridiculous stats like you.

Not excellent enough
At least a 2200 SAT, At least a 700 on SAT II.
other kids that apply will be just as outstanding.

I would say very good chances. However, this person should apply to other Ivy League schools such as Adelphi University and Long Island University.

11% chance because that's how many people get accepted in.
