crock pot cooking...5 days for beef is that too long?

Update:

I told my friend this is dangerous but she insists it is what she does all the time.

Update 2:

she said back and forth from fridge to crock pot heat to get the meat tender for lasagna.....

    It's not dangerous, it's just not necessary. Most meats will be plenty tender in a few to several hours on high, and certainly overnight. After that, the connective tissue has already broken down into collagen as much as it's going to. Leaving it on the heat for 5 days is just going to evaporate and cook down whatever liquid it's in. But, it certainly won't make the meat any more tender.

    You mean cooking all that time? Or back and forth in the fridge? I cannot imagine cooking more than 24 hours. And when a person uses their crock-pot, they should have it on high for a few hours because the lower temp doesn't get hot enough. She probably needs to get a pressure cooker to cook things with, lol...I don't know Why I said that, but just a thought

    Yes, five days is too long.

    If you leave the crock pot on overnight, that is normally ample to get a beef or pork roast about as tender as it needs to be.
