Should I be chipping in?

My husband 's siblings are chipping in on a birthday gift for him.

One of his brothers called me & asked if I am going in on the gift as well...

I thought that was a bit odd, as I am throwing the party...

Am I expected to kick in, too??

I mean, we don't usually buy gifts for our siblings, unless it's a milestone like this.. he's gonna be 60.

You're not a sibling, so you shouldn't go in on the gift. I'm sure you have your own "wife" gift planned for him, so don't worry about it.

Just tell them you have your own special gift for your husband. You are not a sibling to your husband.

You chip in when you want credit for the gift. You chip in = it was from you as well as them. You don't chip in = you had nothing to do with it.
