XBOX 720 VS PS4, what will you get?
This isn't a war on whats better, it's just a simple question... Anyways, what are you guys going to get? Anything you'd like to see implemented? Below are mine...
One thing for the next generation is BOTH consoles need TWO controllers. The one design isn't enough... The PS3 (DS3) controller isn't as comfortable for adults while the XBOX controller isn't comfortable for children. How to solve this? HAVE TWO DAMN CONTROLLER DESIGNS! I personally love the PS controller having grown up with it, but I will personally be going with the 720 for the next generation.
Another thing I'd like is more exclusives from Microsoft. I love near every PlayStation exclusive, but I feel its time for a new start and Microsoft really have an opportunity to grab many gamers here... Uncharted was a great success, new franchises which deliver only means more money.
With Playstation, updates is going to be MASSIVE. They need to step it up to keep the next console fresh and up-to-date like the XBOX. Also pull some strings, get some DLC exclusives or get something like Minecraft yano, people will buy these things.
Final part, more access and freedom. With XBOX, I don't like the whole 'Gamer rep' or the fact anyone can message you (PS3 you have to option to block random messages) it just creates annoying situations and abuse. Also the fact people can view your friends list is another annoying thing... I mean, I have nothing to hide but what is the point in this concept? I just feel this space could be taken up with something more useful such as 'Recommendations for games' or something. ALSO I would love for Trophies to implemented. Unless your 'Achievements / Gamerscore' has a type of reward for money off DLC, its just not as 'exciting' as unlocking a trophy.
PS4, I hope they take more stuff from the 360, such as cross-game chat and group voice chat in game etc.
Oh, final thing... You should have the option to remove trophies / achievements, that is a MUST.
Whatever you choose, happy gaming! I just feel Sony, as a business with money, issues might not pull off anything 'amazing'. That's not say I won't get it... But there's just more to expect with Microsofts next console as it still hasn't gave enough yet.
Well, we know the PS4 and '720' are going to happen. Doesn't matter if they're not announced.
As for the PS3 not being pushed to its limits... Crysis 3 will push it right to the limit, so will God of war and The Last of Us... Neither do I think will be graphically much better than their predecessors. The PS3 cannot manage games at more than 720p. Uncharted, GoW and TLoU is the best we'll get.

I'm going with the PS4 in the next-generation, whenever that might be, although I'm hoping the focus will be on the PS3 and 360 for a while longer, I don't feel this generation is over just yet.
But anyway, for features I'd like to see full backwards compatibility with PS3 games, and the option to delete 0% trophy games, since there are some games that I tried but wasn't a fan of so there's not really any point having it in the trophy list.
More catchup TV apps would be nice as well, BBC iPlayer is great but the PS3 is still missing a few like Demand Five. Other than that, I can't really think of anything else. :)

In an ideal world, everyone could afford both and it wouldn't be a subject.
Frankly the first generation of the new consoles will be insanely expensive and prone to failure.
I'll be waiting until the first refresh of the consoles is out and they price is dropped.
At that point, assess the value.
If PS4 continues its course it'll have BluRay discs and most likely built in Sony 3-D technology they use in their television sets. They also acquired On-Live which is a game over net streaming service or Cloud Gaming that requires no downloads or discs. Most likely a free continuation of their online service to counter MS's $50-60 price tag on a Gold account.
It'll also most likely have all the content and features XBOX will as those companies like netflix want all the revenue they can wherever they can get it, unless someone is forking over major cash for exclusivity.
So...frankly I'm banking on the PlayStation 4 to the better console with better specs and better overall system with free online services.
BUT - It all boils down to games. Who gets the best games and when. Frankly I'm tired of Halo and Gears so, I'll prob switch from xbox to ps.
Until then, PC gaming is kicking some major ******* *** right now.
GG.

The 720 is not confirmed but game developers are confirming the release on the next-gen xbox, so kinda is confirmed. You can block all those things on the xbox just go to your privacy settings. xbox is yet to be hacked while the entire psn went down for quite awhile. The only way to have your account stolen on xbox live is if you are a fool and give your info out freely ( free msp sites etc).
I will most certainly go with the Next-gen Xbox because they have all the games i love, early access to DLC and takeing the top Play Station titles, They have more exclusives then PS. Microsoft may be complete A-holes but they make a good product. Free or not Xbox live would not be so huge if it wasn't amazing. I fully believe you get what you pay for ( just not in the case of the ps3) no offence to psn fanboy's, but come on, near $1000 on launch, wtf was that about??
You should be able to delete achievments, my 4 year old son unlocked a viva pinata achiement. NOT COOL MAN, NOT COOL! lol
Xbox will NEVER do a Gamer point for content thing. Before the 360 came out MSP and gamer score were to be one and the same but that never happend ( too money hungry)

I wouldn't be able to decide now. I'll first need to see the specs of the console. The price. The exclusives. And whether online play is free or not.
I agree with all of your ideas. Other than that there's not much they could implement. I just hope the starting price isn't as outrageous as the PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360.
EDIT: I forgot about the massive problem of not being able to try games. That's quite stupid, I don't know what their intentions are but I'm sure it's money related. I really hope they don't follow through with the idea of locking game discs to accounts. If even one of the future consoles were to back out on the idea, I'm sure that they'll attract more customers.

Realisticly, I'm just stocking up on great ps3 games I haven't gotten to play yet (Uncharted Series, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock), so I don't have to get a new console. I'd love to support sony again by getting a ps4, but by that time I probably won't have enough time to play video games (too many AP classes). But if I had to choose, the ps4 because of free online and I have a really good feeling that by using AMD components, it will be more powerful than the next gen xbox. Besides, ever since they made the ps2 with a dvd player, sony's consoles have been mainly multimedia.

PlayStation 4 will not be announced until a few more years! there's no such thing at this present time & nothing can push a console to it's limits because the games are made to run at a locked framerate 30/40/60! doesn't matter if they make the graphics better it's still gonna run smooth... no matter how nice it looks! as for the 720 well there making it now for you XBOX owners

When I had a PS2, I hated the Xbox and would never have one.
When I had a Xbox 360 I liked the PS3 but preferred the Xbox 360
Who knows what I will go for this time. I suppose it will be which one comes out first (if there is a major gap between them) and which seems the best to me

I'm waiting until both are out to see the specs and any hardware flaws(Can you say, RROD?). The only Xbox I have ever owned was the original one way back when. I love my PS3, but getting DLC for COD sooner along with being able to play Halo sounds nice. As the majority of games I play are cross platform.

I have an xbox 360 but i would get the ps4 3 reasons free online, you can't get hacked easily, and most of my friends are getting it
