Which is better? Ipad vs laptop?

Actually you can buy a decent laptop for under $600, so an ipad really is not cheaper than a laptop.

Except on ebay, the only ipad 2 you can buy are the 16GB, and with firmware that only leaves you with 12GB for space for apps. Unlike a laptop where most laptops come with 500GB or more.

If you're going to be writing reports and stuff. I stick with a laptop and when you save up more money then get yourself a tablet.

If your looking to just have internet and play games then by all means go ahead with the ipad, but I would try to get one with 32GB.

a no brainer laptops beat ipads pound for pound in every department except two ipads look cool and are smaller/lighter one day tablets like ipads will take over from laptops in the same way laptops have taken over from desktops just not yet i agree with others who say they are good for internet and social network even games but lack raw power memory and conectivity in the case of ipads at present its a publicity driven market give it another 3 or 4 years and they will be a match winner till then only worth it to look cool beside there are cheaper tablets out there to keep you happy better in some ways than ipads nexus 7 is worth a look but that is to be overtaken by even better models even as you read this

laptop is far better no doubt but if your trying to build up your social circles ie mmke people think ya rich then ipad is the way to go. A android tablet could compete with a laptop sue to host usb advantages.. We are all use to certain hardware features Apple simply do not provide unless you go out and buy another apple accessory that would be half the price of the ipad just to make it work. With any apple product, cloud services such as box or dropbox will be your best apps, they recently juat got Google maps which every apple user has downloaded, the downloads and rate of downloads made angry birds truely angry birds.... hehe :) posted from my GTN7000

well the truth is a laptop is far cheaper than anything you might have heard when compared to an Ipad.

the the Ipad uses a form of unix similar to the google type tablets.

the laptops generally run just windows 8 as does the new surface from microsoft so it is just a matter of choice really not to do with cost actually and tablets are a passing fad.

depends what you are needing it for. A laptop is better than an ipad if you need manipulate data whether it be a word document spreadsheet, photo, music, videos etc. An ipad and most tablets would generally be used as an entertainment only device, they are not meant for serious work involving keyboard or mouse work, Both devices are fine for internet browsing, social networking etc.

I have 2 laptops and an ipad

I have the iPad 2... it is very nice. It doesn't have the best camera in the world... but it really doesn't matter... if you weren't a photographer. I rarely use the iPad... because for some odd reason my battery does not last a long time. I use my laptop more... to me I like it more, because to me it feels more comfortable. I have the HP-Laptop.

Well it depends!

If you are into gaming, better processing, using various developer tools and programming or designing, its better you have a Laptop!

If you want it just for movies, songs and browsing with low level games(those are available on ITunes or something) you would better go to IPAD

But i would suggest Tablet + Laptops which serve either purposes both as a Tablet as well as a Laptop

It depends what you want to do with it, for example, i mostly use the laptop for word processing and the ipad for virtually everything else... as i said, it depends, personally, i would choose an ipad :)

Without knowing what you want to do with it then it is impossible to say which is better for you.
