MTG Ruling: Epic Experiment?

Epic Experiment is a sorcery for XUR that reads "Exile the top X cards of your library. For each instant and sorcery card with converted mana cost X or less among them, you may cast that card without paying its mana cost. Then put all cards exiled this way that weren't cast into your graveyard."

Let's say I exile the top 5 cards and reveal 5 instants and sorceries. I choose to cast two of them and not cast the other three. The three that I didn't cast would go to my graveyard, but where would the two cards that I DID cast end up? Would they go to the graveyard as a result of my casting them and resolving, or would they remain in exile where they started?

Whenever you cast a spell, it goes to one of 2 places (unless otherwise stated on the card), the graveyard (for instants and sorceries), and the battlefield for anything else. Anything cast by Epic Experiment will be sent to the graveyard.

Magic the Gathering is quite literal. Whenever you cast a spell, it goes to the graveyard unless otherwise stated. Epic Experiment states "you may cast that card", meaning that you may cast it, but it does not say anything about it staying in your library.

A general rule in MTG is that you always stick to the basic rules unless a card states otherwise. For example, you can play a card that says you win the game, which technically is similar to bending the rules. Magic cards do have the ability to bend the rules, but only if they say so.

When you cast a spell, unless it says otherwise, then the spell goes into the graveyard when it resolves.
