Fans of progressive metal, what do you think of the band..?

..Speaking to Stones?

Apparently the band formed in 2004 to release their first, self-titled album in 2006. Since then, they've released only one album, entitled "Elements", in 2012. This is how I came into contact with Speaking to Stones. I'm glad I can say that the hours I've spent with Speaking to Stones have not been for naught.

Both of their albums are filled with Dream Theater influence, but thankfully their vocalist possesses more skill than Mr. LaBrie. Only an opinion..... ;) Luckily they appear to have retained the wonderfully technical musical aspects of Dream Theater, and developed them into their own, awesome form of progressive metal.

BQ: What do you think of Speaking to Stones?

BQ2: What is your favorite song from the above three, if you gave them a listen?

BQ3: Why did the sheep cross the road?

I'm not specifically a fan of Progressive Metal, but I'll listen to any form of Metal.

BQ 1: They're ok, I guess. They should really lose that annoying vocalist though. The annoying high pitched vocalists and the sacrificial act of the verse + chorus guitars to support the vocalists' melody lines is what turns me away from most clean vocals Progressive Metal, Heavy Metal, and Power Metal.

    BQ2: Fire + Shallow.

BQ3: So that it could ask the Chicken the same question. DUH!

I'm not a big fan of his screams, normal vocals are ok. Other than that it sounds great, some wonderful instrumental sections.

BQ: I only know these three songs, so from that I'd say they're pretty damn good. I'd have to listen to their albums though, I might get bored with a full album of this like I tend to do with Dream Theater or Liquid Tension Experiment.

BQ2: I wanna saw Shallow, but probably because it's the one I heard last.

They're alright. I've never been a huge fan of Dream Theater influenced progressive metal, instead I prefer harsher stuff leanings toward death metal for instance. But definitely an underrated band.

Its good...not great. I'm more of a fan of metal core i guess.

I dont like reeeeally long songs, though sometimes i do. I like the elements in the song Fire, but I dont like a lot of build up/break downs.

    Three stars

    Hello again ~~;-)

BQ: Well you know I love this album and have heard it because YOU told me about it. Its give me hope of what Dream Theater minus cheesy vocals might sound like. :p I am waiting for the day that Mr LaBrie announces his retirement honestly.

    BQ2: I think I like Fire! :p

    BQ3: Idk, you tell me!
