Which is the most widely grown hop variety in the world and how many acres of it are grown?
Can kind of work out that Williamette is the most grown hop in the States and that the States and Germany are the biggest hop producers, so does this mean that Williamette is the most widely grown hop? Or is it Hallertau? And what quantities do they grow?

Good question. I don't know the answer but I think Cascade is also a huge one for the U.S. hop growers. It's a staple in west coast micro-brewed Pale Ales and IPAs.
Do you figure EKG is the most grown hop in the UK? It's my favorite as I home brew mostly British beer styles and I've tried the U.S. grown Goldings hops but they simply don't compare to authentic English grown East Kent Goldings.
With Budweiser using Hallertau I guess that alone could push it over the top. And while varieties of that are grown in the U.S. the best is grown in Germany.
