How often should I go to to the gym?

I recently started going to the gym to work out. I'm really trying to put on some weight/muscles mass right now I've been eating more than usual (harder than it sounds) and I've gone to the gym everyday except Sundays. Is this a good routine or can I go all days? I've heard your suppose to have a break day but I'm not sure. Also how long should a workout be ?

and I've heard for putting on weight your suppose to do lower number of reps with more weight is this true?

    I would say 5 days a week you need a day or two off to rebuild ur muscles and yes to your lag question
