He responded to the 9-11 terrorist attacks in a way a Great Leader should when our country was attacked. He swore that day those who knocked down these buildings will be hearing from us soon and the world was not big enough in which to hide. He took care of the people during the most destructive years in recent history ravaged by hurricanes, tornadoes, and wild fires . He never caused the people to be so divided that neither side could accomplish anything. He did put forward a Budget every year as required by law unlike Obama who has never had a budget at all because it would interfere with his out of control spending. And best of all he was a President of all the People not just those who agreed with him. He did not lie to the people just to make himself look good while destroying any hope the congress could work together in taking care of America's business. More of a President than the current want to be dictator.

The only decent thing Bush did in 8 years was his measured and acceptable response to 911.

Otherwise there is no "best" result by the time he left office, the rest was all downhill.

I don't know what the "best" legacy is. Three things that I like were:

He declined to pardon Dick Cheney's crony, Scooter Libby.

He declined to defund NASA, despite calls from within his own party.

He offered meaningful assistance for the AIDS crisis in Africa.

I was impressed with his ability to unite America ( even if only for a few months ) after the attack on the World Trade Center .

For those few months America was the United States of America .

0bama has done the exact opposite and made the U.S. more divided and polarized than it has been since the civil war.

That it ended the potential careers of every other Bush family member.

Well he was able to rally the country and keep us united after the 9/11 terrorist attack.

He also did a much better job at handling Katrina then how the government is handling Sandy now
