Why do cons put politics first and saving America second?

Yeah, how can we continue with endless years of trillion plus dollar deficits if they won't let us borrow more.

Saving America from what exactly? We haven't had these kinds of debt problems since WWII, and there was at least a good reason back then.

If the rest of the world goes into more debt than the U.S., the U.S. becomes the leading economy again, and the dollar remains the most stable currency. Wouldn't that do more for saving America and keeping everyone safe than anything else?

The America they find themselves in isn't worth saving. Letting all Americans choose to move forward is looked upon as treason to those who want to rule, not govern. How dare the common citizen question the goal of American dominance no matter how much blood is spilled or liberty lost.

Raising the debt ceiling is just another parlor trick the Far Left uses to spend America into bankruptcy.

Raising the debt ceiling isn't going to solve our addiction to spending, its just going to allow the politicians to spend more. Frankly, I would rather see the government shut down that waste one more penny on the liberals and their spend-based government style.
