Is the United States a deadbeat nation?

Haven't we already signaled that the USA will never pay down its massive debt? How many people here think we'll ever pay off our debt? If you don't, then doesn't that make us a deadbeat nation?

    As long as we don't default on the debt, we are not "deadbeat".

    So far, the US has always paid outstanding debt when due.
