Anything for a buck. The gun lobby, AKA The NRA, is praying for more.

Sorry but your wrong. Gun makers and the NRA don't stand around wishing some crazy person would shoot-up others. If anything, it brings the anti-gun lobbiest out. What makes gun makers happy is when big goverment start talks about outlawing guns, because then gun lovers get nervous and go buy the guns they were thinking about buying and the ammo that goes with them. What goverment should do is require gun buyers to by a gun trigger lock and have them take a safe storage class. This is like when you get into a car and you are required to put a safety belt on.

It's true, because afterwards, all of the gun enthusiasts fear that new gun restrictions are going to come out, so they go and buy up all of the models and ammo for said models that they can before this supposed law comes into affect.

Than it turns out that the law is never passed, and the manufacturers continue to make the models and people who didn't fear new gun laws will continue to buy them.

When the reaction of the wailing hoplophobes and their congressional monkeys is so predictable, you bet it is.
