What will you do when the ATF boys come for YOUR gun?

Let me give you a little insight as to how the world works:

The kind of door-to-door confiscation that your sort daydreams about will never happen. It would be a suicide mission in every sense of the word, and less than a quarter of military personnel and almost no police would go along with it. Here's how it will happen.

The government announces its banning assault rifles. They do not announce confiscation of any sort. What they DO do, is grant an amnesty period where you can sell yours back to the government or (more than likely) just turn them in without fear of punishment.

Most owners turn them in, because they're afraid of the government. Once the amnesty period is up, a series of strict and harsh penalties are enacted for possession of an assault rifle. And then they wait. Every time someone brings his AR-15 to a range, the police are waiting. Every time someone uses his WASR-10 to defend against a home invasion, the police take it away and jail him for possession.

This is repeated until almost all assault rifles are confiscated and their owners jailed. The only ones who keep their guns are the ones who disassemble them, place them inside sealed PVC pipe, and bury them in a secure location, waiting for their day to come. Unfortunately, the guns don't do anyone any good there, so for all apparent purposes and concerns, the ban is effective.

THAT is how they will come at you. They won't get their men killed and start a civil war by ordering door-to-door gun confiscation. They may be stupid, but they're not THAT stupid.

I live in NY where they just today, banned magazines over 7 rounds.

I don't know the last time someone used a .22 squirrel-killer in a shoot-out, but I do know that these guns are now evil, since every .22 semi holds at least 10 rounds. Hell, even my pump .22's hold more than 10.

Assault rifle definition was reduced to one military feature..pistol grip, folding stock, flash suppressor or bayonet lug. Any one of those things will instantly turn your gun more evil than before.

My Ruger Mini-14 has stamped on its side: "Manufactured in the 200th year of American Liberty".

People just don't see what's up.

The State will probably beat the Feds to it, I'm sad to say.

Mine might just be "lost."
