What colleges can I get into?
I live in Southern Michigan and I'm a senior in high school.
My first three years of high school I didn't do too good. I have roughly a 2.2 GPA with a 21 on the ACT.
This year, however, I have had a 3.1 and 3.0 for 2/6 quarters and looks like I'll have a 3.0 for the semester. If I maintain this will colleges look at my transcript any differently? Will I be able to get into any universities in the Southern Michigan area?
I do not want to go to community college because of the problem of transfering credits. (some don't transfer). Thanks!

In your cover letter, make sure that you point out your senior year GPA.
Recalculate your overall GPA - just the academic course and those on a 4.0 basis.
The ACT score of 21 will qualify you for a good number of schools in the general area:
Western, Eastern, Central [very good school], GVSU, and Ferris State [one of my favorites].
My guess is that 3 or more of these schools would admit you. However, there is a good chance that they will admit you conditionally - dependent on grades. It is a form of probationary admission.
The problem with transferring CC credits is because of bad planning. Go to the catalog of any of these 4 year schools and find the program you want for a major. Determine in that catalog exactly which courses you will need to complete that program. Then at the CC you only take those courses - and get transferable grades.
For most general education courses, a C or better will do. For courses and their prerequisites in your major, often you must earn a B or better.
Time to pick a sensible and attainable major or career goal.
Good luck to you

For you apply for all the colleges you want or can go to even apply for community colleges. Having such a poor GPA for your first there years makes a big difference. Colleges look at that too!
