math term question.. what does it mean?

the question says solve this in graph and formula way.
i think the formula way is y2-y1/x2-x1 but i'm not sure..
what is the "graph" way to find slope?

You're right with the formula way. The way you figure out slope on a graph is rise/run. Basically find how much the point has to go up by to reach the point on the line, and how much it has to "run" by. You're using the same point (x,y). You should form a triangle.
If you look at the picture in the source, Δy is the "rise" and Δx is the "run". Rise is always over run in fraction form. So if the rise = 8 and the run = 2, the slope would be 8/2 which equals 4. I know it's confusing but you'll get better at it.
