What type of Career Can I Pursue If I love watching Sports?

The question is pretty self explanatory. I mean I just love watching and talking about sports NFL NBA MLB. Is there any successful career I can have that will be very greatful for a sportsaholic like me? Will there be careers that will give a pretty decent salary? Im still a high school student (Freshmen). No rude or unnecessary comments please. Thank You!

    Here are your options:

    TV Commentator

    Sports Journalist

    Sports Marketer

    Salesman

I threw the last one in there to point out that there are many people pursuing hobbies as careers these days, which is leading a lot of over-educated people into low-wage jobs. It's great that you enjoy watching sports and talking about sports, but so do millions of other people.

Let's say there are 20 million sports fanatics in the U.S. How many jobs exist that pay people to watch and talk about sports? Maybe 50,000? Let's just say 100,000 for easy math. If there are 100,000 such jobs in the U.S., that would mean one half of one percent (0.5%) of the sports lovers in this country are able to make a living out of it.

However, there are plenty of "normal" jobs were a love of sports comes in handy, such as sales. Salespeople need to be able to relate to their customers. Much of sales is still relationship-based, and building relationships with clients and prospects is made easier when you can relate to people.

If I were you, I'd investigate other career interests. To dream about getting a job watching sports is pretty much the same as dreaming about becoming a celebrity--it might happen, but the chances of failure are very high.
