Is it bad if I don't wear a tux to prom?
I know everyone usually wears a tux to prom but the people i'm going with and my "date" said they really don't care what i wear. My friend is also going and he's not wearing a tux either. We we're going to wear a dress shirt and dress pants. I know my date doesn't care but i'm not sure how much attention will be drawn to me for being the only one not in a tux(except my friend). Will it be an embarrassing thing and will people make a big deal out of it or will it be a "oh he's not wearing a tux" and move on kind of thing?
it's kind of late to get a tux which is why i'm not wearing one.

You can rent one in your size, it's never too late.
I have no idea what your dress code in school is. It's supposed to be a Black Tie event.

Tux for proms are overrated. Wear a fitted suit.
Nice clean white button up with a fitted sports coat (blazer, think black) and pants to match and you'll definitely get the right kind of attention. Never wear baggy!
