Why do parents blame their oldest for everything?

it's so unfair! i'm16 and my sister is 8 and she came out to say goodnight to me and ended up banging her head on the wall and she started crying and then my mum yelled at me and I DIDN"T DO ANYTHING!! It is so unfair. COuld she be just wound up at the end of the day and just have lost it and was talking it out on em because she didn't want tears before bedtime? HOnestly, I just hate how she blamed me and I didn't do anything. It really hurt my feelings and upset me because I DIDNT DO ANYTHING!

Why do parents blame their oldest for everything? Can anyone help me? IS anyone else in my boat??

Please!

Trust me, it happens. Don't take it too hard. They're probably stressed enough as it is already and having to deal with an eight year old in tears was a lot to deal with at the time. They had no one else do blame - so they blamed you. It's just what parents do, you'll get used to it :)

there is something called pace-setting. its not hocks that your younger sister looks at you as influential to what is happening that is normal for the reliance in any generation shows continuity from one to another note that in human mind there is always an outer person that it will what to make a n answer and if that does not happen that person no longer is stable but looses his view of to whom to rely on. in all occasion it happen in positive view where young people look at the older one as inspiration and wanting to bea like them to achieve the way the older person did. that is why kids will always say 'when i grow up i want be like daddy or mummy'.but when the view is negative now it becomes a blame and that is why kids will say You are not my friend' because they are not seeing an inspiration from you.

    we have 3

and certainly dont blame the oldest for everything

sounds like in your case your mom needs to sound off and doesnt want to upset the "baby of the family" so she sounds off at you

totally unfair and your sister will soon play up on this

ask your mom when things have calmed down why she yelled at you when ******* bumped her head, as it was not your fault or anything to do with you and it upset you
