What do you predict the final NHL standings to be?

Here's my prediction:

West:

1) Los Angeles

2) Vancouver

3) St. Louis

4) Chicago

5) Minnesota

6) San Jose

7) Nashville

8) Detroit

-----------------------------------

9) Edmonton

10) Calgary

11) Dallas

12) Phoenix

13) Anaheim

14) Colorado

15) Columbus

Main stories: LA will top west, Canucks will excel with Cory Schneider, Minnesota back as contender, Detroit no longer elite force, Edmonton will almost make playoffs, Calgary is better and slightly younger but still not good enough, Phoenix fails and Columbus still sucks.

East:

1) Pittsburgh

2) Washington

3) Boston

4) NY Rangers

5) Philadelphia

6) Buffalo

7) Ottawa

8) Tampa Bay

-------------------------------

9) Winnipeg

10) Florida

11) New Jersey

12) Carolina

13) Toronto

14) Montreal

15) NY Islanders

Main stories: Pittsburgh will dominate, Caps will return to form, Boston will take division once again, Philly will be good, but division is strong, Buffalo will return to playoffs, Ottawa will make playoffs again, Tampa Bay returns with better goaltending, Winnipeg, Florida and New Jersey will miss playoffs by 5 points or less, Carolina will still miss playoffs, Toronto and Montreal's issues make them miss playoffs and NY Islanders still suck.

BQ: Which of the non-playoff teams has the highest chance of making the playoffs?

Update:

Everyone is underestimating the Leafs because of weak goaltending and lack of center depth.

Update 2:

To answer my own BQ:

West: Calgary (I can't say I don't have confidence, ok?)

East: New Jersey

    East:

    1)NY Rangers

    2)Washington

    3)Boston

    4)Pittsburgh

    5)Philadelphia

    6)Buffalo

    7)Carolina

    8)Ottawa

    ----------------------

    9)Tampa Bay

    10)Winnipeg

    11)Montreal

    12)Florida

    13)New Jersey

    14)NY Islanders

    15)Toronto

Stories: Ovechkin will play like he did in his first few years when he dominated, Boston will take division easily, Rangers with addition of Nash will dominate East. Pens will make playoffs easily, Flyers will also make even without Jagr, Buffalo will make playoffs finally, Carolina will make playoffs with additions of Staal and Semin, Lastly, Ottawa will make playoffs 2nd straight year.

    West:

    1)Vancouver

    2)St. Louis

    3)Chicago

    4)Los Angeles

    5)San Jose

    6)Nashville

    7)Minnesota

    8)Edmonton

    -----------------------

    9)Detroit

    10)Dallas

    11)Phoenix

    12)Anaheim

    13)Calgary

    14)Colorado

    15)Columbus

Stories: Vancouver will hopefully dominate even w/o Kes/Booth. St.Louis will repeat with extravagant year once again. Chicago has something to improve, won cup and then have struggled since. LA will repeat with almost exactly same roster from last years run. San Jose has been consistent by making playoffs but getting a early ticket out. Expect the same. Nashville will make playoffs with defensive core, Weber/Rinne. Minnesota will make it with additions of Parise/Suter. High expectations! Lastly, Edmonton barely makes it escaping wings from a few points. I just can't see DET making it.. So maybe this is the year? Without Lidstrom/Holmstrom?

    BQ: East - Tampa Bay

    BQ: West - Detroit

I don't know why everybody is underestimating the Leafs, they always have strong first half's I predict them as high as 5th in the east tbh and no im not a Leafs fan, im a Canucks fan.

Sure but if history tells us anything its that the Leafs play pretty good for the first half of the season, they have done so for the past 5 or so years.

West - it is going to likely be an disenchanted if Chris Paul (appropriate PG interior the NBA) can not carry his group to the 2d around against a stable Denver group. Denver is stable, however the Hornets have plenty intensity. East - it is going to likely be an disenchanted if D-Wade can not carry the warmth to the subsequent around, I mean all the hype approximately him being the MVP, and his enormous nights would be considered one of those waste... BQ - Lakers have locked the #one million seed. Cavs nonetheless ought to win a pair of video games to fasten in. Edit: Lol... i did no longer know we could %. our very own... East - Cleveland VS dollars. i'm going to be so pissed if the Cavs take 7 video games to conquer the dollars... West - Rockets VS Portland - it is going to likely be an disenchanted if Portland can not beat my Rockets. I mean they don't have T-mac (who's a damn beast interior the playoffs)..

I'll just address the BQ. With the addition of Whitney and Jagr, the Stars could sneak in there. GO WINGS!
