Would a pandemic plague wiping out most of humanity be good for the Earth?

Human civilization only began about 12k years ago, but by now it has caused untold damage to the planet and life on earth. Is it time for humans to bow out and let the earth heal and re-grow?

    What humanity would remain would only start the entire destructive process all over again.

    It would be better if you youngsters became the generation that had the intelligence to work on solutions and bring this planets bounties and its peoples together to work in harmony with each other and the planet instead of being consumed with greed for money and power.

    Well a lower population would tax the existing resources less. But what if the group included you mother or child or the love of your life. Would the earth be better for you. A pandemic would likely wipe out a half billion at most children, the elderly the sickly and poor people

    I hope you're not planning on going around and shooting everyone, cuz in the long run, you'll only take a few lives, and then the cops are gonna catch you and lock you up, and you won't really have done any "good"
