what are the biggest stateless/nationless population groups?
When we hear nationless, or people without a country, we typically think Gypsies (Romani).
What other population groups share this trait (Kurds?)? And is there a good term for these groups?

Palestinians, certainly. Kurds don't have an independent homeland but they aren't stateless as they have citizenship from one of the various countries they live in. Same for Romani, and most other groups. there's a group of people who live in Kuwait known as the Bidoon, or without, who are stateless. but there are any number of ethnic groups who don't have an independent country. you could just as easily include Scotts and Welsh, and some of them would certainly want you to.

Singapore. Its an independant city-state of around 5 million.
