Why dont I get Cable channels on my other tvs?

I have a big screen upstairs with a cox cble box. the tv downstairs only gets channels up to 60 or so. why is this? Is it because i dont have a cable box for it like upstairs? bc i thought it was just a dvr box or something

If its digital cable which it probably is, you need a converter box from your cable provider. I had to get one from comcast for my HDTV because the big cable box that comcast provided was on another tv. Its a really small box maybe 3" x 4" converter box. I believe I paid 5 dollarrs extra per month for the box.when u do get a converter box, u may have to scan your channels more than once depending on how good of a signal u get. I had to scan mine 3 times to get all the channels. That's it... guaranteed...

Yes it is because the big TV has a digital cable box it gets many more channels, and the lack of a cable box at all on the other that it only gets up to ch 60.

The DVR is what it is because, in part, it is a digital cable box.
