What was the name of a British tv "spoof" historical series?
About 1999 or 2000 there was a really funny history spoof serial on British tv. It featured the lead guy who "bossed" around the other cast members, and it was set in historical situations. Can anyone remember the name? I think it may have been on BBC 1, and each episode was 30 minutes in length.
No it's not horrible histories. That is a very recent show. This one was 1999 or 2000 ( 13 / 14 years ago. ) Also it wasn't a children's programme.

Blackadder perhaps? Set in different historical eras e.g. Elizabethan, Regency, WW1.
The only thing I can think of.
