The problem with fixing the pot may use a chemical based glue which in the short term may or may not hold and it can release the chemicals into the food.

If you are talking about a ceramic tagine then the simple answer is that you can't fix it and then cook in it. The heat and moisture will melt the glue and it will fall apart again. My grandma used a phrase on these occasions when she meant you had to go and buy a new one "its good for trade"
