Why does everyone follow religions and theories made up by one guy.?

Instead of following some random guy's theory or religion, I think people should follow what makes most sense to them. For example: most christians I know would rather get brains washed then learning and seeking logistical points. This goes out to all of y'all who stubbornly follows other "prophets" track rather than depending on your own common sense. Even many atheist just follow say, the big bang theory without seeking logistics.

I myself believe there's a personal creator (not the bearded one) of existence (not saying he created everything). I also believe in evolution and consider all religions as bullshit. I also believe that Earth is a unique and blessed planet with nearly deviant nature. Why, because it makes most sense to me. I don't choose between the religion and big bang theory.

.. AND NO TROLLING!!!

Update:

@Godless: I meant that you should choose what sounds most logic rather than follow a pact. And I never said Big Bang never happened, I said that ignorant (not all tho, you're alright) follow the big bang theory just because they "heard of it" and get's brainwashed in stuff they don't even know about. And your proves of big bang weren't enough to convince me. You just showed some proves that some elements of big bang are true, not the damn explosion part, and all the rest unprovable things. And you naming your profile godless (I don't take offence cuz it's your decision) and

immediately try to prove your belief to me (just because it doesn't convince me) rather than answering my damn question, proves of your childish trolling.

I think it comes from a deep feeling of wanting to be protected and led/guided. Notice how most religions extend some form of protection and guidance? Most of us want to feel protected and guided and so they join a religion.

The universe is the way it is, whether you like it or not. There's no reason that the universe has to conform to what you'd like or what makes sense to you.

A scientific theory is a unifying concept that explains a large body of data. It is a hypothesis that has withstood the test of time and the challenge of opposing views. The Big Bang Theory is supported by extensive empirical data. There is no reliable data supporting the some-god-did-it hypothesis, and especially not the Yahweh-did-it hypothesis.

Six prominent facts supporting the Big Bang Theory are:

** The red shift of almost all galaxies, getting greater as their distance increases.

    — This shows that the galaxies are flying away from each other, at greater speeds at greater distances.

** The cosmic microwave background radiation.

    — This is a remnant of the radiation from the Big Bang, and has cooled over time to the exact temperature predicted.

** The variations in the cosmic microwave background radiation.

    — These variations fit theoretical predictions, and were caused by quantum differences near the start of Big Bang.

** The proportions of the lightest elements and isotopes.

    — This helps show that the calculations for nuclear interactions immediately following the Big Bang are correct.

** The changes in galaxies as we look further away (and thus back in time), with distant galaxies more primitive and having fewer heavy elements.

    — This shows some of the changes in the universe since the Big Bang, and confirms the deep time of the universe.

** The change in the apparent speed of type 1a supernova as we look back in time, with distant supernova exploding more slowly.

    — This shows that the light has been stretched out by the expansion of space over billions of years.

There are several reasons why people choose to become religious.

    Indoctrination, fear, gullibility.

unfortunately, ,many people are basically stupid ...
