Is my boyfriend a good guy or not?

So my boyfriend's friend has been telling me for awhile that my bf keeps cancelling plans on him suddenly for reasons that don't seem good enough like "I have to do homework" or "my parents said I couldn't". Today, he told me that he cancelled plans to hang out with his brothers and the girl he likes just to hang out with my bf, and my bf cancelled again. He even told my bf the sacrifices he made to hang out with him and all my bf said was "sorry bro". It really bothers me when I hear things like this about him because he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would cancel plans with his friends so suddenly, and it really makes me doubt whether or not my bf's a good guy or not. What does this mean? Is this something I need to talk with my bf about?
